Creating a high-quality video takes a lot of time and effort. It requires writing a script, shooting, and editing. But what do you do after you’ve put in all that hard work? The next step is to find the right platform to host it. In this post, we’ll discuss a few options for the best places to host your newly produced video.

Best Options For Posting Your Videos

YouTube

Who hasn't lost track of time while unintentionally going on a YouTube binge? YouTube is the most popular video-sharing platform in the world, with over 2 billion monthly active users, and its algorithm can get to know you pretty well. It’s a great place to upload your videos because it’s free, easy to use, and provides in-depth analytics. Additionally, you can customize your channel and add links to your website or social media pages. And the better the quality of your content, the higher and more searchable your channel can become. If you have a niche product or service that you think people may be interested in, then YouTube could be the perfect place to get your videos discovered. This is especially true if you use paid media to contribute money to make your videos appear in front of targeted demographics.

The only drawback is that you don't have complete control of your videos. You can't control the algorithm, and you don't have access to change the look of the player or interface. Competitor videos or ads could potentially pop up, and everyone's YouTube player looks identical. But in my opinion, it's a no-brainer to utilize YouTube if you have videos that are appropriate to host.

Wistia

Wistia is another great video hosting platform because it is designed for businesses. It offers advanced analytics, customization options, features like CTAs and forms, and integrations with marketing tools like HubSpot. If you’re looking for a platform that can help you generate leads and drive sales, Wistia is a fantastic choice.

Of course, this all comes at a cost. There is a free option, but you can only have ten videos on your channel until you need to upgrade. After ten, then you have to pay at least $20/month to increase your media limit. This includes more features as well, like email campaigns and A/B testing. If you are serious about your video marketing, and it's a big part of your overall marketing strategy, then Wisita is a smart choice for your video hosting services. If video marketing is only playing a small role, then you will most likely be better off with using YouTube.

Social Media

Instagram

Instagram is a photo and video-sharing platform that is popular with audiences of all ages. It allows you to upload videos, both in forms of short stories and long reels, and you can attach products to business accounts as well. It's a very visual platform that people love, so it should always be a part of your marketing and social strategy.

Facebook

Facebook is one of the largest social media platforms in the world, also with over 2 billion monthly active users. You can upload your videos directly to Facebook, and it offers a variety of customization options. If your business has or wants a Facebook presence, then it's a great idea to utilize it for it's reach and have it go hand in hand with your other Facebook posts. The only drawback that comes to mind is that Facebook can be seen as becoming less popular in recent years. It's still very active, but the stigma around it hasn't been stellar as of late. Other than that, it's still has a large audience and shouldn't be slept on.

TikTok

TikTok is a social media platform that is popular with younger audiences. While it's the 6th most popular social media app, there's no doubt that it should be taken seriously and has it's place in your businesses marketing plan. It allows you to create short-form videos and easily add music, filters, and special effects, with a higher chance of being seen if it's caught in TikTok's algorithm. If you’re looking to create simpler videos and reach a younger audience, TikTok is a great platform to use.

Other Options For Posting Your Videos

Vimeo

Vimeo is a video-sharing platform that is popular with filmmakers and video professionals. It has a great encoder that makes videos like as uncompressed as possible. It offers high-quality playback, advanced privacy settings, and even the ability to sell videos on-demand. Vimeo is an amazing platform to use if you want to showcase your video to a professional audience. The only drawback is that it's just not as popular as it used to be, and its not as feature heavy as Wisita.

Amazon Web Services (AWS)

AWS is a cloud-based hosting service that offers reliable and scalable video hosting solutions. It’s a good option for businesses that need to host large volumes of videos, like an e-learning platform, or if your videos have a subscription model. AWS is a great choice if you’re looking for a platform that can handle a lot of traffic and provide advanced security features.

Conclusion

When it comes to hosting videos, there are plenty of options to choose from. The best platforms for your business depends on your target audience and your specific needs. While it's probably best to host on as many platforms as you can for the best possible reach to audiences, you still need to consider factors such as cost, features, and ease of use. With the right platform, you can showcase your video to a targeted audience and achieve your marketing goals.
